We are seeking a Senior / Lead Electrical Engineer to design, integrate, and improve the electrical‑controls backbone of our next‑generation manufacturing lines. You will own system architecture—from concept and specification through commissioning and continuous improvement—ensuring every robot, drive, and sensor operates in concert with our production goals.

Key Responsibilities:Controls Architecture & Strategy

• Define the multi‑year controls roadmap—hardware standards, network topologies, and safety objectives—aligned with business growth.

• Establish best‑practice design guidelines for panels, wiring, and device selection.

System Design & Specification

• Lead the electrical design of robotic cells, automated test rigs, and high‑speed material‑handling equipment.

• Produce single‑line diagrams, panel layouts, and BOMs; oversee contractor and vendor deliverables.

• Select PLCs, safety relays/PLCs, drives, vision systems, and field instrumentation.

Integration & Commissioning

• Coordinate cross‑functional teams to bring new lines from dry‑fit through full‑rate production.

• Plan and execute FAT/SAT, system validation, and hand‑off to operations.

• Troubleshoot controls and power issues to ensure seamless ramp‑up.

Data & Connectivity

• Collaborate with OT/IT teams to ensure reliable network communication (EtherNet/IP, Profinet, OPC UA) and accurate data capture for OEE and predictive‑maintenance dashboards.

Project Leadership

• Manage $1 M–$10 M automation projects: scope, schedule, budget, and risk.

• Present project status and KPIs to executive leadership and stakeholders.

Safety & Compliance

• Own electrical and functional‑safety standards—NFPA 70/70E, ISO 13849, IEC 62061—and perform risk assessments and validations.

• Ensure UL / CE and ANSI/RIA compliance for all automated equipment.

Continuous Improvement

• Drive OEE gains by identifying cycle‑time constraints, power‑quality issues, and reliability gaps.

• Implement energy‑efficiency and condition‑monitoring initiatives.

Technical Mentorship

• Guide a team of engineers and technicians; review designs, share best practices, and foster a culture of disciplined engineering.

Minimum Qualifications:• B.S. in Electrical, Controls, or Mechatronics Engineering (M.S. a plus).

• 10+ years in industrial automation / controls, with 5+ years leading complex projects.

• Demonstrated success delivering multiple high‑throughput automation cells or lines—from concept through sustained production.

• Strong knowledge of PLC/HMI hardware families, robotics platforms (Fanuc prefered), industrial networks, and functional‑safety standards.

• Proven ability to translate technical issues into clear business impact for executive stakeholders.

Preferred / Bonus Skills:• Experience in defense, aerospace, or other regulated manufacturing environments (ITAR, AS9100).

• Familiarity with collaborative robots, AMRs/AGVs, machine‑vision inspection, or edge‑analytics solutions.

• PMP or Six Sigma certification and experience with Lean manufacturing principles.
