Position Overview

Allen Control Systems is seeking a highly motivated Test Technician to support the testing and validation of advanced robotic systems. The ideal candidate possesses hands-on expertise in robotics assembly, electronics, and diagnostic tools, with a keen ability to ensure systems meet high standards in dynamic production environments.

What You’ll Do:

• Conduct comprehensive functional, performance, and safety tests on robotic systems, including hardware integration, sensor calibration, and software validation using specialized test equipment.

• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues in robotic components, utilizing knowledge of microprocessors, electronics, mechanics, and feedback systems to resolve faults efficiently.

• Set up and configure test environments for prototypes and production units, simulating real-world scenarios to evaluate system reliability and identify potential failures.

• Document test outcomes, generate detailed reports on results and anomalies, and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs to support compliance and continuous improvement.

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on robotic systems and test fixtures, ensuring equipment uptime and adherence to operational standards.

• Collaborate with engineers, quality teams, and production staff to communicate findings, recommend enhancements, and implement corrective actions for optimal system performance.

• Evaluate robotic performance in controlled and operational settings, making data-driven adjustments to improve efficiency, accuracy, and safety.

• Assist the engineering team in MIL-STD-810 type qualification and acceptance testing campaigns.

What You’ll Need:

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in testing, assembling, or maintaining complex electromechanical systems in a manufacturing or R&D setting.

• Proficiency with diagnostic tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, CMMs, and robotics software interfaces.

• Solid understanding of electrical circuits, mechanical assemblies, sensors, and basic programming for automation systems.

• Experience operating within a Linux environment, and executing command lines from bash and Python

• Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and technical documentation skills.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong safety awareness and adherence to protocols.
