Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior Equipment and Automation Engineer to help scale our factory and equipment. The job involves major freedom to explore different approaches and iterate quickly, while working on a very high performing team. A can-do attitude is necessary, exceptional ability will be rewarded, and meaningful equity will be offered. A good candidate is experienced and can mentor more junior team members, while being an excellent individual contributor.

This position’s internal job code is Senior Equipment and Automation Engineer. We are currently hiring for Level 3.

Responsibilities

• Development, testing, qualification of new production equipment to make precision cast components

• Ownership over equipment and process selection, including throughput & cost modelling, technical assessments, and concept design

• Working with production, finance, facilities, and leadership to coordinate standup of totally new processes from concept to high volume production.

• Line support - debugging issues when equipment is down

• Developing process - experimenting with different machine parameters to improve throughput, yield, capability, and reliability

Minimum Qualifications

• 5 years minimum of professional experience as a manufacturing engineer, process engineer, mechanical engineer, or similar

• Has been responsible for the Design, Setup, and Commissioning of Complex manufacturing equipment in a production environment

• Degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics engineering, electrical engineering, or similar, or evidence of exceptional ability

• Familiarity with common industrial hardware and controls - fittings, connectors, microcontrollers, motion control

• Excellent design skills

• Experience working with vendors and getting designs manufactured

Preferred Skills/Experience

• Experience with precision casting, heat treatment, ceramics manufacturing, slurry processing

• Experience in AS9100 Aerospace manufacturing

• Experience in high volume manufacturing

• Experience with SLA printing

• Worked for a high-growth tech company / start-up

Additional Requirements

• Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed

• Must be able to establish procedures for providing 24/7 on-call support for critical business activities and emergency situations

Summary Pay Range

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline. Salaries are based on demonstrated candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

• Level 3: $126,000-$154,000 plus equity
