Amidon Heavy Industries is a startup building unmanned systems for the offshore industry. We develop uncrewed surface vessels (USVs) that autonomously deploy tethered remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) to inspect subsea pipelines, telecom cables, and offshore infrastructure. Our goal is to deliver reliable subsea awareness at a fraction of the cost of traditional crewed vessels.

The Role

We are hiring a Growth Associate to work directly with our Head of Growth in building out commercial expansion into the offshore energy and submarine cable sectors. This role is about building relationships across our target customer base: Oil & Gas operators, telecom owners, service providers, and EPCs to position our unmanned inspection services as a new standard for offshore inspections, integrity management, and real-time monitoring of critical infrastructure.

The ideal candidate has some experience in offshore oil & gas, either at the operator or servicer level, or in submarine cables, though we also value an outsider’s perspective with the willingness to deeply learn from & understand our customer base. You may have worked for an incumbent in these markets and are looking to innovate, or you come from a non-traditional background and are eager to learn the space. A willingness to learn, build connections in our target markets, and help the Head of Growth scale our business development process are must-haves.

This role is based in either Austin, TX (Preferred) or Los Angeles, CA. Remote may be considered on a case by case basis.

Responsibilities

• Drive revenue growth in submarine cables and oil & gas by sourcing new customers or partners, scoping potential pilots, and building the relationships necessary to close signed contracts.

• Build and manage relationships with operators, contractors, and service companies across offshore/subsea energy and telecoms markets on multiple continents.

• Position Amidon as a trusted partner for subsea inspection and monitoring, showing customers the value of a new approach

• Shape go-to-market strategy across commercial verticals and create a repeatable process.

• Strong organizational skills to document and scale our GTM engine. Familiarity with CRMs and Notion is a must

• Bridge customer feedback with Amidon engineering teams to influence product development and deployment strategy.

• Represent the company at conferences, trade shows, and in customer meetings

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in sales, business development, or strategy. Bonus if you’ve worked in our target industries.

• Understanding of subsea integrity management, offshore operations, inspection regimes, procurement cycles, and regulatory requirements

• Willingness to build a network within operators, subsea infrastructure owners, contractors, and marine service companies. Bonus if you come with a strong network already.

• Ability & Willingness to work across personalities, cultures, and experience levels.

• Ability to translate technical offerings into clear business value

• Comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment with high autonomy

Bonus Points

• Experience bringing new technology or service models into the offshore energy or telecoms industry

• Experience in scoping and executing early pilots and trials for new technology, especially in industrials/energy markets.

• Prior leadership in business development or account management
