Job Level:

The level of this position will be determined based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. We are open to considering candidates of varying experience levels, from early-career to experienced.

Role:

As an Antenna Engineer you will be responsible for antenna systems design and performance. You will influence the overall ground network and portal design based on RF performance trades, and you will collaborate with many disciplines including electrical, RF, mechanical, manufacturing, and software engineers to create the best product from concept to production.

Responsibilities:

• Design antenna systems for next generation products, including phased array and reflector technologies

• Fabricate and characterize prototypes for antennas, feeds, and filters

• Work closely with mechanical and electrical engineers to ensure performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost are optimized

• Develop new antenna calibration and measurement methods, including near-field scanning and phased array calibration

• Analyze real-world performance data of antenna and RF systems, and troubleshoot product defects

• Simulate high fidelity antenna performance, for electrically large arrays or reflectors

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related engineering discipline with 5-7+ years of experience

• 5+ years of experience using one of the electromagnetic simulation software tools such as HFSS, CST, FEKO, or TICRA

• 5+ years of experience with RF test equipment such as VNA, spectrum analyzer, etc.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

• Experience creating custom PCB designs using Altium or similar software

• Strong foundations in antennas and RF concepts such as impedance matching, cascaded network analysis, and RF filter design

• Experience in new product development for phased array antennas and reflector antennas 

• Familiarity with antenna measurement techniques such as anechoic chambers, near field and far field measurements, and related equipment such as network analyzers and spectrum analyzers

• Experience with Python (or other language) for data analysis

Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation is determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a base-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, and technical capabilities. In addition to base salary, Northwood Space offers long term incentives such as company stock, stock options, and cash awards, as well as discretionary bonus for performance.
